chuckgrant.JPG (28405 bytes)Pro Med pitcher Charles "Buddy" Grant Jr. struck out 5 Attman's hitters in game 1 on April 30th. With 1 strikeout last week against Palmgard, Grant currently leads the league with 6 K's.

jillysmanagers.JPG (66356 bytes)It was 'Old Timer's Day' for Schaefer & Strohminger a.k.a. Jilly's Restaurant as former managers Mitch Caplan and Larry Henderson confer with current Manager Andrew Rosenstein and ace pitcher Mark Yokel.

kurlandpaul.JPG (48179 bytes)Cannons Kenny Paul, pictured here with teammate Jeff Kurland, made his return to the league on Sunday, and at age 52 takes the infamous  'oldest player in the league' title back from Raiders Richard Berger. Since Kenny has not yet pitched this season, his record for 2000 remains 0-0. Not since 1985 has Kenny entered the month of May undefeated.

markbenjamin.JPG (40352 bytes)Raiders OF Mark Benjamin slugged 3 HR's on Sunday to tie Legal Papers' Eric Ruby for the league lead in homeruns. His 3 homeruns came against a Palmgard team whose roster contains 3 former league season homerun leaders--Jay Logwood, Rob Bark, Jim Davis.

larryhenderson.JPG (44214 bytes)Schaefer & Strohminger's Larry Henderson tries stealing the signs of Cannons catcher Kenny Paul while at the same time helping out umpire Bob Hollis with the strike zone.

richardberger.JPG (45411 bytes)Raider's starter Richard 'Dicker' Berger is thought to possess a great knuckleball pitch, but this photo shows evidence that the pitch is really a 'spit ball'.

mitchcaplan.JPG (38127 bytes)Schaefer & Strohminger received a boost by adding former All-Star pitcher Mitch Caplan. Caplan led the team to 3 straight finals from 1993-95.

rottsscudder.JPG (34876 bytes)With the passing of tax season, Pro Med catcher/CPA Mike Rottenberg made his season debut. Showing NO respect for Rotts' speed, Attman's 1B Warren Scudder pays more attention to watching his fingernails grow.

yokelcharkatz.JPG (30131 bytes)More lack of respect from firstbasemen. Cannons 1B Neal Charkatz, with his eyes closed, is certain that the Schaefer & Strohminger batter has no ability to hit the ball to the right side of the infield. While Charkatz' eyes are closed, Mark Yokel, the veteran that he is, decides to take a quiet 3 step lead away from the base.

salzman.JPG (37375 bytes)New technology on display this year by Pro Med. Pro Med SS Kenny Salzman is pictured here running to first base as Attman's rightfielder Rob Ressin is unable to track down his foul ball. Notice the uniform number on Salzman's jersey. The jersey number apparently changes to reflect Salzman's current batting average. In related news, Pro Med has announced that next week Salzman will be wearing 190.

playball.JPG (36026 bytes)Bubba Smith's attorney and Attman's ace Bruce Eisenberg delivers pitch to 'Mr. Baseball' Fred Shapiro, with umpire Keith Brown in position to make the strike call.
