Sky & Sky Inc(6) 7 at GorgeousWatches.com(5) 13
WP- Sonny Cherlstein LP - Marc
Leibovitz
Everyone knew GorgeousWatches.com could hit, it was the defense that
plagued the team. During rounds three and four of the Tournament, they finally
played defense and hit. Against Sky and Sky in round three, the first five
hitters in GW.com's lineup went an amazing combined 14-18 leading to help carry
the team to a 13-7 victory. After falling behind, 2-0 after the first half
inning, GW.com took little time in hitting it's way back. LCF Craig Dlin led off
the bottom of the first with a singled stretched to a double. C. Larry Henderson
moved him to third with a sacrifice fly. LF Tony Luna singled home Dlin. RF Russ
Dlin, then doubled home Luna to tie the game at two. 1B Bobby Morrow, then
singled home Dlin to give GW.com a lead it would never relinquish. Pitcher Sonny
Cherelstein sailed along keeping the dangerous Sky lineup at bay until the
GW.com could score a few more runs. He didn't have to wait long. In the bottom
of the 3rd, C. Dlin opened the inning with a double. Henderson then singled him
home to make it 4-2. Luna singled to right to put runners at the corners with no
out. R. Dlin, then doubled to score Henderson to make it 5-2. Morrow, then hit a
long fly ball to LCF, GW.com then attempted to make a double tag. Luna scored
easily from third, but R. Dlin was thrown out lumberjacking in from second to
end the inning. But the score stood at 6-2. GW.com continued to open the lead
with three straight singles in the bottom of the 4th by 2B Andrew Rosenstein, DH
Jon Koman and RCF Ricky Schreiber to make it 7-2. Sky scored three runs in the
top of the fifth to cut the lead to 7-5. GW.com's bats exploded to put the game
out of reach by batting around in the bottom of the inning, scoring six runs.
Luna, and R. Dlin drove in the first two runs with doubles. Morrow drove in two
with a single to make it 10-2. With two outs, Schreiber drove in two with a
single to right and M. Rosenstein capped the scoring at 13 with a triple. The
next to last out of the game for GW.com was when Luna was robbed of a would-be
triple when the smash he hit down the first base line hit Henderson squarely in
the butt. Hitting stars: C. Dlin 3-4 3 runs, 3 2B; Luna 4-4 3 runs, 2B, 3 RBI's;

Attman's Deli (2) 16 at Havana Club Cannons(1) 8
WP- Bruce Eisenberg LP - Mark Yokel
For the first time in three years, the Havana Club Cannons will not be in
the final game of the Pikesville Men's Softball tournament. Facing off against
Attman's Deli in Round 3, the Cannons couldn't seem to gather enough momentum
and lost by a score of 16-8. Bruce Eisenberg was the winning pitcher while Mark
Yokel took the loss in a steady rain.
The Cannons broke out to an early lead with 4 runs in the b-1st. With 2 out and 2 on they connected for 4 consecutive singles to plate the 4 runs. Jim Peterson's bases loaded 2 out single in the b-1st staked the Cannons to a short lived lead. Attman's answered with 2 in the t-2nd with doubles by Harry Schevker and Scott Moffet, and singles by Paul Bell and Bruce Eisenberg. An 11 run 4th by Attman's put the game away with 9 runs coming with 2 out as the flood gates opened by virtue of 5 singles, 2 errors, 1 double and 2 intentional walks. 4 more runs were scored by the Cannons in the b-6th for the 16-8 final.
For the Cannons Jeff Kurland was 3-for-4 with a triple, while
Dan Kassel, Evan Kreitzer, Jeff Robbins and Mark Yokel were 2-for-3. The
Cannons seemed to be on the short end of every close call in this game, however
they also were not as effective defensively as they had been most of the season.
The win by Attman's in Round 3 gave Paul Bell his 400th career win as manager
(16 seasons).

Kings(7) 7 at Palmgard (3) 8
WP- Larry Hineline LP - Chuck Grant
A tightly contested match-up saw Palmgard come away with a narrow 8-7
victory over the Kings. A Palmgard 2 out infield error in the t-1st led to 1 run
and Shilo Merwitz followed with an RBI single to put Kings up 2-0. Palmgard
quickly responded in b-1st. Jeff Webster and Jim Davis reached on hits in b-1st
and both scored on Mark Benjamin's 2 out 2 RBI double. Kings put up another 2
spot in t-2nd. Mike Herr led off with a single and 2 outs later scored on Dave
Roogow's single to CF. Kenny Salzman proceeded to single home Roogow for a 4-2
Kings lead. Again Palmgard answered back with 2 runs in their half inning. Mike
Woods doubled with 1 out and came home on Greg Manara's 2 out 2-run HR. In
b-3rd, Webster singled and Grailen Archie hit a double, with Webster moving to
3B. Following an infield out, Jim Silvestri lofted a pop-fly that fell in
between 2B and RCF, scoring Webster and Archie. That gave Palmgard a 6-4 lead.
In Kings t-4th, Merwitz doubled to lead off the inning. Mike Herr hit a 1 out
single to RF, moving Merwitz to 3B. Josh Bross hit a SF to RCF, scoring Merwitz
and cutting the Palmgard lead to 6-5. In Kings t-6th, Chuck Grant and Shilo
Merwitz drew walks. With 1 out Mike Pusateri lofted a flyball to RCF that was
mishandled allowing Grant to score the tying run, moving Merwitz to 3B, and
Pusateri into 2B. With 2 outs, Bross singled home Merwitz, but was tossed out
trying to stretch the hit into a double before Pusateri crossed the plate with
another run. The Kings, though, did hold a 7-6 lead thanks to Bross. In
Palmgard's b-6th, with 1 out Mark Benjamin doubled. Gabe Silber blasted a HR
shot into the parking lot in LF. This gave Palmgard the lead back 8-7 and the
Kings were unable to score in the 7th inning.
Palmgard winning pitcher Larry Hineline allowed just 8 hits, while walking 5 and
striking out 4. Chuck Grant scattered 13 hits against the potent Palmgard
attack. Despite the wet grounds, the Kings played errorless ball, while Palmgard
commited just 2 errors.

GorgeousWatches.com(5) 10 at Attman's Deli (2) 2
WP- Jeff Harris LP - Bruce
Eisenberg
In this rematch of game two of the tournament against Attman's Deli,
GorgeousWatches.com was determined not to make the same mistakes as it did in
the first game that resulted in a 7-4 loss: Fall behind early and play bad
defense and swing at bad pitches.Once again Craig Dlin led the way early by
stretching a single into double to start the game. After Larry Henderson
advanced him to third on a ground out. RF Russ Dlin hit a two-out single to give
GW.com a 1-0 lead. Bobby Morrow then singled to but runners at first and second.
RCF Ricky Schreiber then hit a hot smash to second which went "through the
wickets" as they say, scoring Dlin and moving Morrow to third. Andrew
Rosenstein singled home Morrow to make it 3-0 GW.comIn the bottom of the 2nd
Attman's hit several hot smashes that GW.com turned into outs. So after one
inning at least mission one was completed. In the meantime, Pitcher, newly
married, Jeff Harris was in total command of his pitches, getting ahead in the
count and making the big pitch when he needed it.Also, GW.com was playing
flawless defense. Then in the top of the third, GW.com added two runs. LF Tony
Luna opened the inning with a double, but was thrown out stretching it into a
triple on a very close play. R. Dlin then doubled. Morrow doubled to score Dlin
to make it 4-0. Schreiber advanced Morrow to third with a fly to right field. A.
Rosenstein then singled home Morrow to make it 5-0.GW.com broke it open in the
top of the fifth with R. Dlin, A. Rosenstein and 3B Joel Koman driving in single
runs with singles. M. Rosenstein then capped the scoring by driving in two runs

Havana Club Cannons(1) 0 at Palmgard (3) 6
WP- Larry Hineline LP - Tom
Paulshock
Round 4 witnessed the two "illegal" pitchers against each
other, and Tom Paulshock lost to Larry Hineline 6-0. The game was scoreless thru
the 3 innings. The Cannons had a chance to open the scoring in the 2nd inning as
Ernie Stephenson led with a double. After an out, Dan Kassel walked, and then
Robbins and Peterson were caught looking at strike three. Palmgard scored all of
their runs in the t-4th inning. Mark Benjamin started the scoring with a
HR to left. After loading the bases, Mike Woods delivered with a 3-run
pinch hit double to left-center. Larry Hineline finished the scoring with a
2-run double. Paulshock pitched well except in the 4th inning, where all 3 men
he walked scored. Cannons closest scoring opportunity came in b-6th. Rob
Isennock tripled to lead off the inning, but was out trying for home. The
Cannons only managed to get 6 hits against Palmgard's Hineline. Outstanding
defense all around and outstanding defensive play at 1B by Keith Davis helped
Palmgard shutout the high powered Cannons attack.
