Attman's used its number 2 seeding to gain home team advantage in the final game
of the tournament on a warm and cloudless day. Bruce Eisenberg was fresh
and solid through the first four innings as Attman's scored solo runs in the
first and third. Robbie Ressin led off the b1st with a single and was
scored by Ricky Farley after tagging on a flyball by Dave Sandler. I
the b3rd, a leadoff single by Paul Bell, followed by a single by Bruce Eisenberg
led to a run as Dave Sandler singled. Two runners were left on base as the
next two batters flew out. It was 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth
when the scenario repeated itself as Paul Bell and Bruce Eisenberg had back to
back singles, this time followed by a hit by Robbie Ressin to score Bell.
Dave Sandler flew out and a single by Ricky Farley scored Eisenberg with Ressin
being thrown out at the plate. One more run was scored by Attman's in the
sixth on walk to Warren Scudder, a double by Harry Schevker, and a single by
Scott Moffet. The seventh inning for Watches got exciting as they narrowed
the score to 5-2 and with two on and two out, a line shot to third ended the
scare and gave the championship to the Attman squad.
It was the 7th Tournament Title since Paul Bell became manager in 1987. The team had also won 12 Regular Season Titles in the same time span of 16 years to compile a record of 401-99. Bruce Eisenberg's pitching record during those same years is an amazing 269-63.
