Randallstown High School Field #2
Kings vs GorgeousWatches.com
Game 1
Kings 15  GW 3
Lacking owner/manager Mike Herr's guidance for the first time in 7 years, the Kings managed to split a doubleheader with the LArry Henderson/Andrew Rosenstein led Gorgeous Watches. The Kings' interim manager, Alan Varhaftik, tried the unorthodox strategy of having no batting practice before game 1, and was rewarded with a 10 run first inning highlighted by two hits apiece from Kenny Salzman and Kenny Zalis. Eight Kings' hitters contributed singles to the 10 hit inning. The Kings coasted from there to a 14-3 victory, the last run scoring on a moster Shilo Merwitz home run. Merwitz played an excellent game at shortstop, backing the solid pitching of Chuck Grant (5-2) who gave up but one earned run. Sonny Cherlstein was the losing pitcher.

Game 2
GW 13  Kings 3
Game 2 saw the Gorgeous Watches explode for a 7 run fourth inning on their way to an easy 13-3 triumph. Winning pitcher was Jeff Harris. Loser was Jeff Goldstein (3-4). Harris was reached for multiple hits only by Grant and Todd Katz. The only Kings' highlight was Chuck Grant lobbying for a rule change after he karate chopped the ball out of catcher Henderson's glove at the plate in the 5th inning but was ruled out anyway. Despite Grant's plea that the ball was live since Henderson' s knee was not down, it was ruled that since he had not pancaked Henderson on the play, the out ruling was correct.

Alan Varhaftik on Sunday became only the 3rd manager in the Kings 14 year history. He is the only manager to win his first game. Steve Levy was the last person to handle the managerial duties for Mike Herr on May 7, 1995 vs Burt (doubleheader sweep). Lifetime Kings managerial records Herr 270-154, Levy 6-5, Varhaftik 1-1.

Randallstown High School Field #3
Mount Washington Tavern vs N.E.K. Entertainment
Game 1
NEK 11 MWT 7
Game 1 pitched by David Pridgen was won by NEK 11-7. The game was led by NEK 3-0 until the top of the sixth inning when MWT scored 5 big runs to take a 2 run lead 5-3. Then in the bottom of the sixth NEK pulled off a big 8 run inning to take a commanding lead. In the top of the seventh, MWT scored two more runs, but fell short giving NEK its first victory since week 1. This win was a total team victory.

N.E.K and their speedy baserunning were handed a victory by the mistakes of the Tavern today.   N.E.K's aggressive baserunning and 8 run rally in the bottom of the sixth shocked the Tavern and sealed the victory.
Hitting stars for MWT were Scott Landsman- 2-3 22b 2rbi 1run; Jon Lamb 3-3 12b 1rbi; Howard Goldberg 3-4 1run.

Game 2
NEK 6 MWT 3
Game 2 pitched by Andre Vaughn was won by NEK 6-3 again NEK had a 3-0 lead until MWT pulled off 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Then with NEK hungry for another victory Brian Jackson smashed a 3 run homerun to give NEK a 6-3 lead that they would hold onto. Now with a taste of victory NEK is hungry for more. Pretty good defense was played by both teams.

Randallstown High School Field #4
Eastern Savings Bank vs Kelly & Associates
Game 1
ESB 14  K&A 7
ESB jumped out to an early 2 run lead in the top of the 1st and scored 1 more in the second, to bring the score to 6 -3 in favor of kelly and assoc. But superior defense and incredible pitching by David Finkelstien shut them down by allowing only 1 run  after the 2nd inning. With that defense  ESB slowly chipped away and tied it up at 7-7 after the 6th.  In the top of the 7th ESB exploded for 7 runs to finish off kelly and assoc in game 1 with a final of 14 -7.

Game 2
ESB  10  K&A 9
This was a see saw battle with the lead changing hand a number of times throughout the game.  Being up by 5 in the top of the 7th, ESB gave up a grand salami to let kelly and assoc regain the lead by 2.  But ESB still had the hammer  in the bottom of the 7th.   A  1 out bases loaded single brought ESB with in 1. Then again with the bases loaded  and 2 outs Johnny Feldman came thru with a clutch 2 out , 2 rbi single to give ESB the win and the sweep on the day.

Deer Park Middle School
Palmgard vs Turtles
Game 1
Palmgard 6  Turtles 3
In Game one, the Turtles remained in their shell and scratched out only three runs dropping into a 1st place tie losing to Marty and
Palmgard 6-3. Moving to the larger Deer Park Field, the Turtles bat were silenced as many line drives found Palmgard gloves as they dropped to 11-2.

Game 2
Turtles 20  Palmgard 8
In Game two, the Turtles came out snapping scoring a team inning high 9 times enroute to an easy 20-8 victory regaining 1st place pending the results from the Gorgeous Watches game. The game was held up in the 2nd inning as Baltimore Counties worst (Officer Walls) arrived to issue parking tickets to those in the fire lane. Without ample warning, players from both teams scurried to their vehicles to move them. Detour Dave, however, was last to get to his car, as he had to come in from right field. Walls would not yield, as the ticket continued to be written, Dave moved his car, but was ordered back to the illegal spot to collect the citation. An argument ensued, but to no avail, the ticket was issued despite to protest of players from both teams. Sandler's migrane headache just got worse as he continued to struggle at the plate and allowed Lee Eidelberg to assume his spot in right-field. Back to the game, where both Ricky Farley and Scott Moffet went deep, as everyone, including Detour had an rbi, winning for the 12th time in 14 games.
