Pikesville Senior High Field #5
Sky & Sky Inc. vs Kelly & Associates
Game 1
Sky &Sky Inc. 19  Kelly & Associates 4 (5 Innings)
Kelly & Associates had nine players all day so they decided to bring the lumber out early. They pushed across 4 in the t-1st on 4 walks and 3 singles. After the alarm clock went off for Sky & Sky, they answered with 14 in their half of the first. Back-to-back triples by Steve Truitt and Scott Felton got things going, and 3 Kelly errors allowed the rally to continue. Eight of the 11 batters in the order
managed at least one rbi in the inning. Zach Scherr benefited from stellar defense including a lunging Jonas Needelman in LF who snatched a HR liner away from Greg Teague with the bases loaded to end a Kelly threat. Needleman then began the 4th with a leadoff shot to LF, the second in as many innings for Sky & Sky. The game ended in the 4th, 19-4 as Zach Scherr got the win and Mark Rifkin took the loss. Hitting stars for Sky & Sky were Steve Truitt (3-3,3B,2 1B,5 rbi,2 runs), Scott Felton(3-3,3B,2 1B,2 rbi,2 runs), Joel Wax(2-3,HR,1B,3 rbi, 2 runs) & Mike Rottenberg going 2-2. For Kelly & Associates Lou Gitomer reached based safely in all three plate appearances.

Game 2
Sky &Sky Inc. 19  Kelly & Associates 4 (5 Innings)
Game 2 featured a much closer contest. Aric Spitulnik led off the game with a HR poke to LF. In the Sky & Sky second three hits in a row were strung together twice in the inning. The big shot was a Steve Truitt 2 rbi triple as Sky built up a 6 run lead. Kelly & Associates came out of the gates hot in the b-2nd with 6 hits leading to 6 runs and a tie game. The big shot was a bases loaded double over the head of Scott Felton by Tim Palo. However, some hustle on Felton's part and a strong throw by SS Steve Truitt nabbed the third Kelly & Associates runner trying to score on the hit. Jonas Needelman and Alan Smith each doubled and
scored to push Sky & Sky up by 2 in the t-3rd, but the Sky & Sky 4th was the big inning. Four errors and 7 hits pushed Sky & Sky out in front by 10. Kelly & Associates chipped away at the lead with three in the b-4th and 4 more in the game, but Sky & Sky held on
for the 4 run victory. Larry Newman got the win, and Rifkin again absorbed the loss 17-13. Hitting stars for Sky & Sky were Aric Spitulnik(3-4 needing a triple for the cycle,BB,3runs) and Alan Smith (4-4,2 2B, 2 1B,SF,2 rbi,2 runs). Kelly & Associates' Lou Gitomer continued his hot hitting(3-4,2 3B,1B,SF) Alex Newman who lit his father up with two screaming line drives, one nearly decapitating his old man(2-3,BB,2runs) and Andy Feinberg(4-4,3B,3 1B,2 runs,2rbi).
