On this hot and humid sunday morning NWC looked to even it's record at 6-6. The Hounds determined to find their first win stood in their way. Things got off to an exciting start in the first with NWC plating 5 runs and The Hounds answereing with 2 of their own. That was the closest the Hounds would get as David Stein took control on the mound and started to silence the Hounds' bats. The NWC expanded their lead in the 2nd with a 5run 2 out rally. The NWC 3-4-5 hitters exploded for a 2b,3b and HR from David Stein, Howard Goldberg and Billy Beadle. 6 more runs in the 3rd were scored after clutch rbi hits from Joey Liner and Howard Goldberg. The Hounds managed just one more run in the 4th inning and NWC added 7 more in the 5th to close out the game. David Stein was in complete control on the mound all game and Scott Sweren led a solid NWC defense.

Game 2: Northwest Corridor 14 (WP-Howard Goldberg 3-2) Hounds 1  (LP- Rich Schneider 0-3) 5 Innings

The Hounds were looking for redemption and the NWC were looking to get back to .500 for the season. Things got off to a fast start for NWC taking advantage of bases on balls and jumping to a 6-0 lead after 1. Consecutive hits in the 2nd from Aaron Birenbaum, Dave Stein and Howard Goldberg extended the lead to 9-0. Goldberg cruised most of the game on the mound shutting down the Hounds hitters with mostly ground balls and pop ups. His bid for the franchise's first ever shutout was thwarted in the 4th inning as the Hounds managed to score 1 off of a Matt Freidman 2b. Both teams played hard but the NWC prevailed in the heat 14-1 in 5 innings.
