June 26, 2005
Northwest Regional Park Field 1:
Game 1: Quizno's Owings Mills 7 (WP-Lane Gordon 5-1) NEK Entertainment 6 (LP-David Pridgen
6-7)
Quizno's Owings Mills came back from the dead by scoring 4
runs with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th inning to defeat NEK by the final of
7-6. With 2 outs and the bases empty- the "Blue Wave" put on one of their
classic comebacks. After Tali Lemus and Lane Gordon each popped out to start the
7th- the Viagra kicked in as Robbie Resin (2-3 2 Runs Scored) and Larry
Henderson (2-3 1 Run, 1 RBI) each singled to make it 1st and 2nd. Lee Eidelberg
(2-3 2 Runs Scored, 1 RBI) then popped a looper to right field that dropped in
front of NEK's John Frederick (AKA Freddie) scoring Ressin. Eidelberg hustled to
second base on the play as Henderson moved to third. With 1st base open- NEK
decided to pitch to Russ Dlin (1-3, 3 RBI, Sac Fly) who quickly laced a ball up
the middle for a game tying 2-run Single. As the ball came home from the
outfield- Dlin took second base to get into scoring position. Jon Koman (2-4, 2
RBI, 1 Run Scored) then laced a rocket to left center field over the heads of
the outfielders to score Dlin with the game winning run. Lane Gordon recorded
yet another win and has won 5 straight decisions.
Game 2:
Quizno's Owings Mills 17 (WP-Jeff Harris 4-6) NEK Entertainment 10
(LP-Marquis Garrett 0-3)
Quizno's Owings Mills blew a 10-0 lead in the 4th inning
but rallied to defeat a determined NEK team 17-10. After being down 10-0, NEK
put together a 10- Run 4th inning thanks to a mixture of terrible defense by
Quizno's and a 3-Run HR by NEK's John Frederick. Quizno's scored 2 Runs in the
5th inning to go back on top thanks to a clutch 2-Run single by Robbie Ressin.
Quizno's added 2 more in the 6th and 3 more in the 7th to put the game out of
reach. Jeff Harris settled down and retired the last 9 NEK hitters after they
scored 10 Runs in the 4th. Craig Dlin returned from the "Walking Wounded List"
(which still includes 5 players from last year's team) and went 1-4 with 1 Run
Scored. Quizno's Owings Mills set a team record as 9 different players had RBI's
in this game: Russ Dlin (5), Lee Eidelberg (3), Dave (2), Robbie Ressin (2), Jon
Koman (1), Craig Dlin (1), Jeff Harris (1), Todd Pobleets (1), and Mark
Rosenstein (1).

* Robbie Ressin on the day: 6-7, 5 Runs Scored, 2 BB's.
Northwest Regional Park Field 2:
Game 1: Havana Club Cannons 18 (WP-Mark Yokel 7-2)
Hounds 1 (LP-Rich Schneider 0-6) 4 Innings
Both teams shorthanded today, the Hounds went against the Cannons with 9 versus 9. Matt Friedman, on fire for the Hounds, has hit consistently over the past three weeks with an in-the park-homerun one week, a triple the next week, and another triple against the Cannons today. On defense, Matt has continued to bowl into fences for a catch hustling to the greatest of his ability.
In Game 1 the Cannons beat up on the Hounds with an 18-1
campaign. Although Rich Schneider was the losing pitcher for the Hounds, his
defense never gave up. An excellent effort by James, Louis, and Tim covering the
entire Outfield. Offensively, all went 1-2 at the plate: Anthony Russel, Alex
Newman, Tim Palo, Mike Beverly, Matt Friedman, James McLendon, and Brad Starobin.
Game 2:
Havana Club Cannons 14 (WP-Tom Paulshock 4-1)
Hounds 5 (LP-Alex Newman 0-5)
In Game 2 the Cannons beat the Hounds by only 9 runs with
a final score of 14-5. Congratulations to the Hounds for keeping the score under
10 showing definitive progress, Alex Newman was the losing pitcher. Good job to
James McLendon with his first appearance ever at shortstop. Offensively, Matt
Friedman and James McLendon were on fire getting on base all three times. Mike
Beverly went 2-3 and Louis went 1-2 with a double. Brad Starobin and Tim Palo
both went 1-2 with a walk. Good job Hounds on two well played games.
Fundamentals are beginning to come together and that is a critical element to a
winning ball club.
Northwest Regional Park Field 3:
Game 1: Kings 12 (WP-Chuck Grant 8-5)
Sky & Sky Inc 9 (LP-Larry Newman 7-9)
The Kings led the entire game and held on to win 12-9 in game 1. The teams combined to pound out 33 hits, with only 1 double, but 7 triples. Game 2: Kings 6 (WP-Chuck Grant 9-5)
