Field 2:
Game 1: Kings 12  (WP-Chuck Grant 5-1)  Havana Club Cannons 6 (LP-Mark Yokel 5-1)

A depleted Cannons team scrapped to a 1 run lead in the bottom of the first, only to be hammered for 4,2,5 and 1 in the next 4 Kings at bats. The makeshift Cannons D actually played well, but the high sky and horrific sun field of left field caused 3 fly balls to be misjudged, leading to many of the Kings early runs. Mark Yokel got hit around as his command was not pinpoint as usual. 9 of the Kings 12 runs came after 2 outs. Key 2-out 2 RBI hits came from Mike Herr (1-3,2B,1 R,2 RBI,2B), Chris Blankenship (1-3,1 R,2 RBI,HR), and Dan Frignito (2-4,1 R,2 RBI,3B).

A decent victory for the Kings, as the Cannons never really threatened. Chuck Easter did go 3-4 with 3 runs scored and a 2 run homerun to right. Lou Falcon went 3-4, and that was really the only hitting stars in game 1 for the Cannons. For the Kings, other multi-hit games came from Dave Sandler (2-4,1 R,1 RBI), Shilo Merwitz (2-4,2 R), Chuck Grant (2-4,1 R,1 RBI,2B), Troy Hendricks (3-3,2 R,2 RBI,2 3B), and Keegan Retalliata (2-3,1 R,2B).

Game 2: Havana Club Cannons 18 (WP-Mark Yokel 6-1)
Kings 16  (LP-Chuck Grant 5-2) 9 Innings

This game was an offensive explosion for both teams. The Kings won the early part of the game, scoring 1,4,2, and then 8 runs in the first four innings. But the Cannons managed to also score 6 runs in those innings to stay at least with in striking distance at 15-6 after 4 full. Then the Cannons bats awoke, to score 3 runs a piece in the 5th 6th and 7th innings to tie the game in dramatic fashion. Down 3 in the top of the 7th, Kurland led off with a single, Chuck Easter hit a double, Neal Charkatz followed with a sac fly, and then a Lou Falcon fly out set the stage for Sean Murphy to come through with a 2 out, 2 run single to tie the game at 15. Stellar pitching by Mark Yokel in relief of Tommy Paulshock in the 4th inning helped to shut down the Kings bats through the bottom of the 8th.

In the top of the 9th, a Charkatz single, and a Falcon single set the stage for Steve Hayes mammoth 3 run homerun to left center. The Kings managed 1 run in the bottom of the 9th, and to load the bases with 1 out, but it wasn't enough as the Cannons came back from 9 runs down to take the 18-16 victory and week 7 split.

The Kings took advantage took advantage of Cannons pitching wildness, drawing 12 walks (9 Paulshock, 3 Yokel). 4 of the Kings runs came via bases-loaded RBI walks. Keegan Retalliata (4-5,3 R,3 RBI,2 2B) and Chris Blankenship (3-4,2 R,3 RBI,2B,K,SF) remained hot for the Kings. Other game 2 hitting stars for the Kings were Shilo Merwitz (2-3,1 R,3 RBI,3 W), Joey Lloyd (3-5,2 R), Dave Sandler (2-4,1 R,1 RBI,2 W), and Dan Frignito (2-4,1 R,1 RBI,2 W). Chuck Grant thru all 16 innings for the Kings, pitching quite well, and taking several body shots from the Cannons bats.

Hitting stars for the Cannons game 2:

Kurland 3-6
Easter 3-6 and another homerun
Falcon 3-6; 3 runs scored
Stave Hayes 3-6; 3 rbis; HR
Yokel 3-5; BB, roe;

Game 2: NEK Entertainment 19 (WP ) Northwest Corridor 7 (LP-Howard Goldberg 2-2) 6 Innings

Field 4:
Game 1: Sky & Sky Inc. 7 (WP-Larry Newman 5-4)  Eastern Savings Bank 3  (LP-Dave Finkelstein 0-1)

Eastern Savings Bank's Jim Davis put his team up in the top half of the 1-st with a monster blast to LF, but Todd Tennenbaum tripled to allow Sky & Sky to cut that lead in half. Sky & Sky singled their way to tie things up in the t-2nd, and both teams see-sawed lead changes the next few innings. Sky & Sky took advantage of a controversial call in the 5th to add 3 and both offenses were held in check the rest of the way. Final was 7-3 as Larry Newman defeated David Finklestein. Brian Sky battled a bad leg to punch out 3 singles while Todd Tennenmbaum(3B,1B) and Scott Felton(3B,2B) each scored twice.

Game 2:  Eastern Savings Bank 13  (WP-Ted Winner 3-2)  Sky & Sky Inc. 1 (WP-Larry Newman 5-5)  5 Innings

Game 2 was headed for quite a different outcome right from the start. Two SS errors allowed Eastern SavingsBank to take a 3 run lead. They added 6 more in the b-3rd sprinkling a number of hits and a using a key OF error to open the flood gates. Sky & Sky squeaked a measly run across in the 3rd, but Ted Winner baffled the bats the rest of the way. ESB mercifully pushed
three across in the 5th to end the game 13-1, Winner's defense easily pushing him to victory over Newman.
