Game 1: Eastern Savings Bank 11 (WP-Ted Winner 1-0) Sky & Sky Inc 9 (LP-Larry Newman 0-1)

Game 1 saw Sky&Sky's Chris Knorr hit a solo shot in the first inning surprising his teammates, ESB, and most notably himself. Sky&Sky then used a Jason Tolbert 2-RBI triple to go ahead by 2 in the t-2nd.
In the top of the third, David Kowitz was back to his old form doubling to lead off the inning and bring
Sky&Sky to within 3 runs. Newcomer, Richard Puritz singled home one in the t-5th and Sky&Sky played small ball for three more in the sixth. Sky&Sky could only muster one in the seventh as Larry Newman wound up losing 11-9 to Ted Winner and the ESB offense.

David Kowitz went 3 for 4, with 2 RBI after shaking off some initial rust.

ESB’s bats came alive in the bottom half of the 2nd inning scoring 6 times off of Sky’s starter, Larry Nemo. After a lead-off pop out in the 2nd,, 7 out of the next 8 ESB batters reached base, including Glen Ackerman’s clutch 2RBI double. A two run smash by David Kowitz and a solo shot by Brian Sky were the offensive highlights. Jeff Harris scattered a few walks and singles over the next four innings, but Sky&Sky wound up losing 20-7 in 5. Newcomer Jeff Friedman scratched out 2 singles, a walk, and an RBI as Chris Knorr took the loss.

ESB put this one out of reach early with 10 1st inning runs of Sky’s Chris Knorr. Chris Zoeller, Glenn Ackerman, and Jim Davis (home run) all had 2RBI in this inning. ESB tacked on one in the 2nd, 3 in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th and 4th in the 5th to run-rule Sky by a final count of 20-7.
