Game 1: Northwest Corridor 11 (WP-Mark Yokel 6-3) Bombers 5 (LP- Tzvi Friedman 1-2)

NWC vs The Bombers on field #1. The Bombers sported new red uniforms against old rivals NWC trying to erase the memory of a 2 game sweep earlier in the year. Yokel shut down the Bombers offense in the top of the 1st without a run scored and NWC jumped on the scoreboard 1st plating two in the bottom half of the inning. Brad Rosenberg drilled a 2-out double off of Tzvi Friedman to score Goldberg and Unterman and give NWC an early 2-0 lead. Friedman would shut down the NWC bats with relative ease in the next 3 innings. The Bombers out a nice rally together in the top of the 2nd inning scoring 4 runs to take a 4-2 lead. Tony hit a line drive 2rbi base hit scoring Marc Loeb and Jason Gardner. He would score on a Chaim Finkelstein base knock as did Aaron Birenbaum after a couple NWC throwing errors following the hit. NWC’s offense awakened again in the 5th inning. Mark Yokel helped himself with a leadoff triple in the left centerfield gap to start the inning. Jeff Kurland drove him in with a double and Scott Snyder’s sac fly brought Kurland home. Brad Rosenberg singled in Gabe Unterman & Jon Herbst doubled in Rosenberg and Adam Silverman. NWC erased the early deficit and now enjoyed a 7-4 lead. The Bombers put one more up in the 6th inning but NWC scored 4 more insurance runs in the bottom half of the inning. Yokel’s sac fly brought in Matt Silverman from 3rd base. Scott Snyder doubled home Lee Pollak and Unterman. Goldberg followed him with a double of his own to score Snyder and give NWC a 11-5 lead. The Bombers loaded the bases in the top of the 7th but yokel finished them off without letting up a run to seal the victory.

HThe Bombers jumped to an early lead in game #2. Drawing two walks off of Goldberg they put a rally together and scored 3 early runs. David Flamm’s rbi single scored Rashaad Johnson and Tzvi Friedman had a clutch 2 out line drive to score Dan Gutman and Flamm. Poulshock and Goldberg both cruised unharmed for pretty much the remainder of the game. NWC left multiple base runners on in the 2nd and 3rd & 5th innings but still managed zero runs off of Tommy. Goldberg also settled down and limited the Bomber’s hits for the next 4 innings. In the 6th inning NWC finally got on board. Goldberg led off the inning with a walk and advanced to 3rd after a Brad Rosenberg base hit. Jon Herbst’s fielder’s choice got Goldberg home and Matt Silverman’s line drive base knock plated Herbst. Again NWC left 2 runners on base to kill their own rally. Leading 3-2 in the bottom of the 6th The Bombers got 2 more insurance runs, again from a Zvi Friedman base knock. Two runners scored off of the long blast to left field off of the bat of Friedman. His 4th rbi of the day. NWC tried to stage a rally to take the lead but just as they’d done all game, left runners in scoring position. This time they loaded the bases off of Poulshock but tommy was able to get out of the inning unharmed and sealed the 5-2 victory
