Sky and Sky started the nightcap where the opener ended scoring 12 runs in the top of the 1st and making The Birds continue to nest that egg. In the top of the 2nd, Thunderbirds 3B David "Satchell-No" Woods, went against front office advice and made his PMSL pitching debut and provided a carousel of Sky runners for the original pitcher, Kyle Kennedy, to inherit. Sky came across the plate 8 times. In the bottom of the 2nd. The Birds egg began to hatch as Lenny Fields hit a double over the left center fielder's head. The next batter, Dante Lambert knocked in Lenny with a double of his own. Maurice Jamison knocked in Dante with a single and The Thunderbirds trailed 20-2. In the top of the 3rd, "here we go again with an ill advised pitching change", Thunderbirds catcher Jesse "The Original Score Keeper" Fenwick made his PMSL pitching debut giving up an inside the park homer to the only batter he will ever face. Sky would get 2 across. Switch hitting icon Manny Fontanez started The Birds off with a single followed Darnell Maxwell's double down the left field line. Tony Barner would add an infield single juicing the bases for Woods. Sky would issue an RBI free pass to David scoring Manny. Tony would score on Shawn Yarnall's FC at bat and The Birds would still trail 22-4. The Thunderbirds would hold Sky to 2 more runs behind relief pitcher Shawn Yarnall and come up in the bottom of the 4th trailing 24-4. Kyle Kennedy would get on with a single followed by a walk to Maurice Jamison. Next, Manny would get a single to load the bases. Sky would give up 2 runs on bases loaded walks to Darnell and Tony. Woods would get an RBI single and the game would end when Darnell was dead meat at the plate trying to score on Woods' single killing The Birds comeback rally. The final score was 24-7. Bad score but a fun time. Go Birds !!!

Game 1: Kings 8 (WP- Chuck Grant 7-1)  Northwest Corridor 3 (LP- Howard Goldberg 17-5)

The Kings met up with Northwest Corridor in a much anticipated match-up for the Regular Season title. NWC came into the doubleheader in need of a sweep to take 1st place and what would be their first league title. The Kings preferred to eliminate the suspense with a game 1 win in hopes of capturing their 4th Regular Season title. The Kings behind the strong pitching of Chuck Grant won the opener 8-3 and clinched 1st place in the Regular Season.

Neither team scored in their first at bat. In t-2nd, NWC had runners on 1st and 2nd base with 1 out when Matt Silverman hit into a 6-4-3 doubleplay. The doubleplay became more costly as Silverman pulled a leg muscle and was forced to miss the rest of the day. In b-2nd, Kings loaded bases with 1 out consecutive singles by Jan Katzen, Steve Levy, and Troy Hendricks. Glenn Savage hit a SF to score Katzen and a misplayed relay throw allowed Levy to score. Rob Barrow followed with an RBI 1B to give Kings 3-0 lead. In b-3rd, 4 consecutive singles by Kenny Salzman, Shilo Merwitz, Arin Gelletly (RBI) and Alan Varhaftik, along with SF by Katzen made the Kings lead 5-0.

Kings pitcher Chuck Grant faced just 4 batters in each of the first 4 innings. In t-5th, NWC loaded bases with 0 outs on 1B by Brad Rosenberg, ROE by Gabe Unterman, and infield 1B by Ben Herbst. Jon Goldman hit a SF to LF to score Rosenberg and advanced both baserunners. With 2 runners in scoring position, Grant was able to get out of the inning with an infield popout and lineout. The Kings added 2 more runs in b-5th on Salzman walk, Merwitz 1B and 2 out Varhaftik RBI 1B. Merwitz scored the 2nd run of the inning when he caught the NWC infield knapping after receiving the relay throw on Varhaftik's hit.

With the Kings leading 7-1 entering the 6th inning, NWC was not ready to give up. A leadoff walk to Jon Herbst, 1 out 1B by Scott Snyder, and RBI 1B by Adam Silverman made the score 7-2. Brian Jarosinski's ground ball was booted allowing Snyder to score and pull NWC within 7-3 with 2 runners on and still 1 out. Again Grant was able to lead the Kings out of trouble as he got the next 2 batters to groundout to SS Arin Gelletly who was able to make the short throw to 3B each time for a forceout. The Kings added an insurance run in b-6th on 2 out consecutive 2B's by Brad Millison and Barrow. The final score was Kings 8 NWC 3.
