Northwest Regional Park Field 1:    Umpire- Reggie Grant
Game 1: Bombers 13 (WP-Tzvi Friedman 4-1) Natty O's 0 (LP- RJ Seabeck 3-10)

The Natty O's couldn't buy a hit off of Tzvi Friedman in the first game, as he took a no hitter through the first go round through the O's lineup. RJ Seabeck finally singled to break it up, but by that time, the Bombers had scored early and often and the game was already out of reach. The bombers found a lot of holes in game one, blooping in lots of singles taking advantage of men on base by hitting 2 homeruns that cleared the fence. The first two given up by RJ Seabeck all season. The game ended in 5 innings with the Bombers ahead 14-0.

Game 2:  Natty O's 8 (WP-RJ Seabeck 4-10) Bombers 7 (LP- Jay Walle 5-2)

Playing with only 9 players, and coming off of a bad 14-0 loss in game 1, RJ Seabeck put the team on his back and was able to silence the Bombers bats through the first 6 innings. The O's meanwhile were finally hitting, loading the bases twice against Jay Walle but coming away with nothing both times. The O's finally put 2 runs on the board in the 3rd and 4th innings and followed it up with a 4 run spot in the 5th. The O's took an 8-1 lead into the 6th, when the bombers rallied, taking advantage of a couple missed plays in the field and scored 6 to make it a 1 run game. However, in the bottom of the 7th,with the winning run at bat, RJ settled in and got a ground ball to short, where Jeff Kapper made a great play to end the game and give the Natty O's a much needed victory.

With just 1 out and the bases loaded trailing by 1 run, Tom Paulshock was the batter against Kings Grant. Paulshock grounded to thirdbaseman Jan Katzen who threw home to get the forceout of the potential tie run. With the bases still loaded, Grant was able to retire Tim Palo on a groundout to SS.

Game 1: Northwest Corridor 13 (WP-Howard Goldberg 11-2)  Thunderbirds 2 (LP - Jerome Ragsdale 0-4)

The 1st ever meeting between NWC and The Thunderbirds was a highly anticipated affair. NWC didn’t waste any time getting on the scoreboard early. Scott Sweren set the tone with a leadoff walk and sac flies from Scott Snyder and Ben Herbst, along with rbi hits from Adam and Matt Silverman gave NWC an early 4 run lead. Ragsdale managed a base hit off of Goldberg in the 1st but that would be one of only 4 hits managed for the rest of the game. Goldberg worked the Thunderbirds lineup well allowing only another hit in the 5th inning and two more in the bottom of the 7th. Meanwhile NWC’s offense managed another 3 in the 3rd. Snyder, Silverman and Gabe Unterman each had rbi base hits to set the pace. Brad Rosenberg had a 2rbi line drive in the 4th inning to increase the NWC lead to 10-0. The Thunderbirds finally got on the board in the bottom of the 7th after drawing a rare leadoff walk from Goldberg, Ragsdale followed with his 2nd base hit of the ballgame. Dave Woods having sent a pitch to the warning track his previous at bat stepped up to the plate looking to knock in some base runners. With 2 outs he hit a base knock to left field just in front of the glove of a diving Gabe Unterman. Both runners scored to ruin the NWC shutout and give Woods another 2 rbi’s for the season.

Ted Winner made his season debut as a starting pitcher for NWC in game #2. The Thunderbirds countered with Kyle Kennedy on the mound. Again The Thunderbirds would be frustrated by great pitching. This time being held to 2 runs and 6hits by Winner who also had 4 strikeouts in the contest. There was no scoring in the 1st inning but NWC scored first putting up 5 runs in the 2nd inning. Matt Silverman knocked in Adam Silverman and Ben Herbst delivered a timely 3run homer. Herbst added another rbi hit in the 3rd inning and Jon Goldman followed with a 2rbi triple to left field. NWC broke the game wide open in the 4th inning when Goldberg hit a grand salami to the left centerfield fence. The thunderbirds got on the board in the 4th inning, Ragsdale and Kennedy had back to back singles. Theo stepped up and drilled a 2rbi triple to the right centerfield fence. That would be all of the scoring for the game as the nightcap to the doubleheader ended with the same score as the first one, 13-2
