Northwest Regional Park Field 1:    Umpire- Reggie Grant
Game 1: Sky & Sky Inc. 13 (WP-Jeff Harris 7-0)  Bombers 12 (LP-Tzvi Friedman 3-2)

This was sure to be a good matchup, as Sky led the league in runs scored with 13 per game, and the Bombers allowed the fewest runs in the league, at just 3 runs per game. Eric Radom led off the game for Sky with a walk, Steve Truitt singled, and then advanced to second on the throw to third. Elliot Blank singled up the middle to knock in two. Andrew Vanlandingham and Pat Wilcox each hit into a fielders choice, Holley singled, and then Bloom hit a triple to deep left center giving Sky an early 4-0 lead. The Bombers went down quietly in the 1st. Sky went down 1-2-3 in the 2nd. The Bombers got on the board in the bottom half of the 2nd after Shule and Chaim singled and were knocked in by Loeb. In the top of the 3rd, Truitt and Blank started the inning with consecutive base hits. Vanlandingham and Wilcox again each hit into a fielders choice, and then Holley singled. The Bombers got the runs back in the bottom of the 3rd, to make it 6-3. Sky looked like they were going to pull away in the 4th. Shaun Poulton led off the inning with a single and Jeff Harris flew out to left. Radom singled, Truitt walked to load the bases. Blank singled to knock in a run, with Radom holding up at 3rd. Vanlandingham hit into a fielders choice, with Radom getting forced out at home. Wilcox singled to drive in two, Holley singled to knock in Vanlandingham, and then Bloom doubled to score Wilcox and Holley. Brian Sky singled, but then a strong throw from Gershon got Bloom at the plate to end inning, leaving the score at 12-3. The Bombers started off the bottom of the 4th inning with 5 straight hits, the big blow coming from Tsvi, driving it opposite field over Bloom’s head in left field, with a bases loaded triple. He scored on a single, to keep the game within reach, at 12-7. Sky went down 1-2-3 in the top of the 5th, and the Bombers chipped away with 2 more runs in the bottom of the 5th. Sky stranded two runners in the 6th, and the Bombers got two more back to bring the game within one run, at 12-11. Sky got an insurance run in the top of the 7th when Bloom, who reached on an error, scored on a sacrifice fly from Eric Radom. Down 13-11, with one out, Chaim singled. Loeb doubled to knock in a run, and then two consecutive hard hit ground outs ended the game, with Sky on top 13-12.

Game 2:  Sky & Sky Inc. 9 (WP-Jeff Harris 8-0)  Bombers 3 (LP-Tzvi Friedman 3-3)

The Bombers stranded a runner in the first inning, after Jeff Harris issued just his first walk of the season. Sky stranded two in the bottom half of the inning after Radom walked and Vanlandingham singled. The Bombers jumped out to and early lead, scoring 3 in the top half of the inning. Sky got one back after Holley walked, Bloom singled, and Brian Sky hit a grounder to 1st base, with Holley scoring on a close play at the plate. Harris shut down the top of the order 1-2-3 in the 3rd. Harris then led off the bottom of the inning with a double to left, Radom singled and heads up base running allowed him to advance while the Bombers were arguing with the umpire. A wild throw allowed him to get to 3B, and Harris scored. Blank singled to score Radom, Vanlandingham hit into a fielders choice, and then Pat Wilcox hit his 1st homer of the season, drilling one over the RF fence. Sky took a 5-3 lead. Jeff Harris didn’t allow a run the rest of the game. Meanwhile, Sky scored one in the 5th with Bloom driving in a run, and 3 more in the 6th, with Truitt, Blank and Vanlandingham picking up RBI’s, to make the final score 9-3. Harris picked up his 8th win of the season, and Sky remains undefeated.

Northwest Regional Park Field 2:    Umpire- Mark Radom
Game 1: Natty O's 13 (WP-RJ Seabeck 4-3)  Outlaws 1 (LP-David Woods 0-1) 5 Innings

Nick Meyer and RJ Seabeck, who batted in the top 2 spots got on base all 6 times they stepped to the plate. The same could be said for newcomer Tony Spangler and Natty O's veteran catcher Jonathan Veditz. Just about every other Natty O has at least 1 RBI and the offense looked very balanced. RJ Seabeck kept the outlaws in check, even compiling a few strikeouts in the dominating win.

Game 2:  Natty O's 18 (WP-RJ Seabeck 5-3)  Outlaws 10 (LP-Josh Friedman 0-1 )  

The second game of the day was a much closer affair. The outlaws bats woke up, and the O's woes were compounded by a few costly errors in the field which allowed the Outlaws to take a 10-7 lead going into the 6th inning. The Natty O's showed great composure and came through in the clutch, scoring 6 runs in the 6th inning, started by a Jonathan Veditz walk, 3 singles by Nick Meyer, RJ Seabeck and Justin Bullock capped off by a Matt Bratter 3 run homerun. The O's would add 5 more in the 7th to make the final score look like the game was not quite as close as it was.

Northwest Regional Park Field 3:    Umpire- Scott Snyder
Game 1: Kings 13 (WP-Mike Herr 6-0)  Green Machine 8 (LP- John Reichert 0-2) 

Green Machine took a 4-0 lead in t-1st, but the Kings scored the next 13 runs and the Kings held on to win the opener 13-8. 2 out RBI hits by Brad Verbosky (RBI 1B), Rico Alkrine (RBI 1B), and Chris Goodwin (2 RBI 3B) staked GM to 4-0 lead in t-1st. Kings fought back for 3 runs in b-1st on 2 RBI 1B by Jan Katzen and 2 out RBI 1B by Troy Hendricks. In b-2nd, with 2 outs and 1 on, Koby Sarubin's fly ball was dropped allowing Michael Kleeman to score the tying run. Kenny Salzman followed with an RBI 1B to put Kings ahead 5-4.

Kings took advantage of another outfield error in b-3rd adding 1 more run for 6-4 lead. In b-4th, the Kings batted around scoring 7 runs and taking commanding 13-4 lead. Key hits in inning were RBI 2B by Koby Sarubin, RBI 1B by Salzman, RBI 1B by Arin Gelletly, 2 RBI 1B by Glenn Savage, and 2 RBI 1B by Troy Hendricks.

In t-6th, Green Machine got 4 quick runs. Skyler Dickinson led off with a pinch-hit 1B. Nick Serkes and Matt Boden (RBI) followed with singles. Mike Randall then launched a 3 RBI HR over the fence in LF. After Randall's home run, Kings starter Mike Herr was able to retire the final 6 GM batters in order. completing a 13-8 Kings win.

Game 2:  Kings 15 (WP-Mike Herr 7-0)  Green Machine 6 (LP-Bob Mallonee 1-3) 

The Kings pounded out a season high 25 hits on the way to a 15-6 win over Green Machine in game 2. Kings scored 1 run in t-1st and 3 runs in t-2nd to take early 4-0 lead. Key hits came from Glenn Savage (RBI 1B), Brad Millison (RBI 2B), Michael Kleeman (RBI 1B). Green Machine with 5 hits in b-2nd scored 3 runs to pull within 4-3. RBI singles came from Pete Sclafini, Mark Winkel, and Skylar Dickinson. Kings added 4 runs in t-3rd via RBI 2B by Arin Gelletly, RBI 1B by Jan Katzen, RBI 1B by Troy Hendricks, and RBI 1B by Brad Millison. Gelletly's RBI 2B to fence in t-4th put Kings ahead 9-3.

Kings added 2 more runs in t-5th on Steve Levy RBI 1B and Millison RBI ground out. Green Machine put together 5 straight hits in b-5th from Nick Serkes (1B), Matt Boden (1B), Mike Randall (2 RBI 2B), Brad Verbosky (RBI 2B), and Chris Goodwin. With 3 runs scored in the inning and pulling to within 11-6, Green Machine still had just 1 out and runners on the corner. Rico Alkrine hit a sinking line drive to right field. Kings rightfielder Michael Kleeman robbed Alkrine of a basehit with a diving catch and the Kings were able to double off the runner from 3rd base who had broken from the bag on what looked to be a sure hit. Kleeman's catch kept the score at 11-6.

The Kings added 4 runs in t-7th on SF by Savage, RBI 1B by Millison, and 2 RBI HR by Kleeman. Final score Kings 15 Green Machine 6.

Kings game notes:
Kings LF Alan Varhaftik was in attendance, but is out 6-8 weeks following hernia surgery earlier in the week.
With Varhaftik out of the line-up, Michael Kleeman made his Kings and PMSL debut. He singled in his first at bat in game 1 and homered in his last at bat in game 2. The last Kings player to homer in his debut was Arin Gelletly on April 13, 2008 vs. LOFT.
Kings starting outfield in the doubleheader featured 3  24 year old outfielders -- Koby Sarubin, Brad Millison, Michael Kleeman. The last time the Kings started 3 outfielders age 24 or less was July 11, 2010 vs. Sky & Sky Inc.-- Justin Kleeman 21, Jared Levine 20, Glenn Savage 24.
Kings were missing Brett Eisenberg (flag football game) and Chuck Grant (upper and lower body injuries).

Northwest Regional Park Field 4:      Umpire- Jeff Kurland

Game 1: Northwest Corridor 9 (WP-Howard Goldberg 3-1)  Thunderbirds 3 (LP-Lenny Fields 0-3) 

Sunday's action started as The Thunderbirds took on Northwest Corridor. The Birds took the field with 9 players as NWC struck first with a 2 run homer and held a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 2nd. Mike Silverman would get TB on the board with a lead off triple and score on the overthrow to 3rd. After 2, it was NWC 2- TB 1. NWC would add 2 more in the 3rd and hold a 4-1 lead as the game went into the 5th. They also added 4 more in the 5th and 1 in the top of 6 to increase the lead to 9-1. In the bottom half of the 6th, TB would try to get a few scores back with consecutive doubles from Kenneth Kreyling and Tony Barner (scored Kreyling). Lenny Fields would single Barner in for The Birds last run in Game 1 as NWC added 1 more in the top of the 7th and took the opener 10-3.

Game 2: Northwest Corridor 10 (WP-Ted Winner 3-1)  Thunderbirds 4 (LP-Lenny Fields 0-4) 

The second game started as TB was held to an egg as NWC scored once in the 1st to take an early 1-0 lead. TB would respond in the top of 2 with a free pass to Dana Anderson and a double by Brandon Boston. Gary Bosley and Jake Neville would have consecutive RBI singles scoring Anderson (Bosley) and Boston (Neville). Bosley would come in a batter later to give TB a 3-1 lead that held until the bottom of the 4th.

NWC got 1 (4th) and 5 (5th) to take a 7-3 lead. TB tried to respond in the 6th as Nick Perehinec would get a free pass and advance to 2nd on Kenny Kreyling's FC that forced Bosley out at 3rd. Tony Barner would single in Perehinec to make it 7-4. NWC added 2 more insurance runs and took the nightcap by the same score of 9-4.
