Game 1: Outlaws 7 (WP-Larry Newman 1-8)
Thunderbirds 2 (LP- John Kerzner 1-3)
Totally awesome action on field 1 matching up
neighborhood rivals, the Outlaws taking on the Thunderbirds. The Outlaws set the
tone early in the top of the 1st inning, as Reggie Molock draws a leadoff walk.
Theo Battle also draws a walk. Super rookie Martiez Reed drives them in with a 2
RBI triple to give the Outlaws an early 2-0 lead.
Larry Newman toes the
rubber for the Outlaws, and was dealing the full deck of cards all day, holding
the Thunderbirds offense to 2 runs, also backed up with some great team defense.
The Outlaws get back in the scoring column in the 2nd inning, as Darnell Maxwell
draws a walk. Maurice Scott singles. Hector Medina comes through with a RBI
single sending Maxwell home. Reggie Molock line drives an RBI single to bring
Medina around to score, and extend the lead to 4-1. Both teams put up big fat
doughnuts in the 3rd, and 4th.
In the 5th inning, the Outlaws turn it up
a notch putting up 4 runs, as David Woods leads it off with a triple. Theo
Battle gets his second hit of the game, driving Woods in with an RBI double.
Martiez Reed legs out an RBI double bringing Battle home. Tony Wiggs joins in on
the fun with a shot to the gap bringing Reed home with an RBI triple. Billy
Giles brings in Wiggs with an RBI groundout to push the lead to 8-1. The Birds
get 1 in the bottom of the 5th, but that would be the end of the scoring as
Great Uncle Nemo closes the door on the 8-2 Outlaws victory.

Game 2: Outlaws 7 (WP-Harry Kinsey 3-2) Thunderbirds 6 (LP- John Kerzner 1-4 )
In game 2, the Thunderbirds came out the blocks fast with
a 4-0 lead after 4 innings, as the Outlaws bats were quiet scattering 3 hits
over 4 innings.
The alarm clock finally went off for the Outlaw bats in
the 5th inning, as William Giles V started the rally up, and got the Outlaws
going with a big shot to deep center. Giles caught a flat tire rounding first,
and just settled for a double. Before the next batter came up, he magically
changed the tire, and put the doughnut on, as Darnell Maxwell singles to set up
first, and third for young Maurice Scott. Scott pops up, but not quite deep
enough as Giles couldn't make it home. With the Outlaws still stuck on zero, the
pressure was on for super rookie, Hector Medina. Medina gets the job done, with
an RBI single, as Giles can finally pull into the garage, and finally get some
fix it flat for that wheel. Harry Kinsey who has pitched his way out of trouble
all game, against his former team, finds a hole to get an RBI single to score
Maxwell and cut the Birds lead to 4-2. Red hot Reggie Molock drives in Medina
with an RBI single to cut the lead to one. David Woods knots the game up at 4,
with an RBI single of his own, to bring home Scott who ran for Kinsey.
2
batters later, and with 2 outs Martiez Reed steps into the box. Reed draws a
walk to juice the bases for comeback player of the year, Tony Wiggs. Wiggs
breaks the game open with a bases clearing triple scoring Molock, Woods, and
Reed and giving the Outlaws the lead for good at 7-4, and completes the 7 run
5th inning for the Outlaws. The Thunderbirds put one on the board in the 7th,
but Kinsey digs into his bag of tricks, and secures the win as the Outlaws take
the nightcap 7-5, and complete the sweep.

Game 1: Natty O's 18 (WP-RJ Seabeck 7-4)
Nationwide Bombers 3 (LP-Tzvi Friedman 8-3) 5 Innings
The O's wouldn't waste any time on Sunday, jumping on
Tzvi Friedman early with 6 runs in the first inning. The catalyst, Francis
Thomas DiVincenzo would start the inning with a base hit and the O's would go on
to get 7 of the next 8 hitters on base culminating with a Jason Smulson 2 RBI
single. The O's would add 3 more in the second inning, this time led by doubles
from Nick Meyer and Brody Tennant. The Bombers would try to climb back, putting
up 3 runs in the first 2 innings, but RJ shut down the bombers rallys at almost
every opportunity, giving up only 3 runs to the potent Nationwide insurance
lineup. The O's offense wouldn't quit and broke things open in the top of the
5th inning. Kris Stahle, Jason Smulson and Jonanthan Veditz would start the
inning off with 3 singles, turning the lineup over where 6 of the next 7 hitters
would also single. When the dust cleared the O's were up by 15 and would hold
the bombers in the bottom of the 5th for an 18-3 win in 5 innings.

The Bombers didn't waste any time getting on the board in
game 2, scoring 3 runs in the top of the first. RJ would keep the O's in the
game over the next 4 innings giving up just 1 more run and giving the O's every
chance to climb back in the game. The O's would put 1 run up in both the 2nd and
3rd innings thanks to a solo homerun by Brody Tenant and 1 of 4 sacrifice flies
on the day by Justin Bullock which RJ Seabeck would score from second base and
lift the team emotionally. The Bombers would take a 4-2 lead into the bottom of
the 5th when Francis Thomas DiVincenzo catalyzed the inning with a single and
the rest of the lineup would follow suit highlighted by a Kris Stahle homerun.
Nick Meyer would add 2 Nationwide Insurance runs with a 2 run ding dong to left
field in the bottom of the 6th and RJ would do the rest, shutting down the
Bombers offense once again and the O's would sweep the week with a 10-7 victory.
