Game 1: Outlaws 20  (WP-Larry Newman 3-10)  LOFT 10  (LP-Kenny Kreyling 6-6)  

The final week of the regular season kicks off on field 1 between the Outlaws vs. LOFT. LOFT has won all 4 prior meetings this season. But this week would be different. LOFT starts off fast as they normally do with their big bats. LOFT leads 6-2 after 2.

In the top of the 3rd, the Outlaws chip away at the deficit. Hector Medina gets a one out walk. William Giles doubles. David Woods drives in Medina, and Giles, with a 2 RBI double. Rookie of the year candidate, John Brader drives Woods in with an RBI single to make the score 6-5 LOFT after 3.

In the top of the 4th, the Outlaws take the lead for good, Jeff Saunders leads it off with a double. Theo Battle drives him in with an RBI single to tie the game at 6. Maurice Scott reaches on a fielders choice. Scott uses the wheels to tag up on a fly ball to get to 2nd base. Hector Medina drives in Scott with an RBI single to put the Outlaws ahead for good 7-6 after 4.

That's all Larry Newman needed as he goes SuperNemo and scatters 2 runs over the final 3 innings. The Outlaws kept on swinging the thunder rods scoring 3 in the 5th, 4 in the 6th, and 6 in the 7th to cruise to a 20-8 victory.

Outlaws 11  (WP-Larry Newman 4-10)  LOFT 8  (LP-Jonathan Stacey 4-7)  

Game 2 the intensity picks up as both teams, very familiar with each other, were going at each other looking for the W. Outlaws keeping the bats hot like the humidity put up 2 in the first. Josh Vaeth gets a leadoff double. Hector Medina keeps his reign of terror going matching Vaeth with a double of his own to score the speedy Vaeth. William Giles scorches a missile into left for an RBI single, to bring in Medina. 2-0 Outlaws after 1.

Nemo throws 3 pitches, and gets 3 outs in the top of the 2nd to keep LOFT off the board. In the bottom of the 2nd, Chas West leads it off with a single. Jeff Saunders singles. Darnell Maxwell brings in West with an RBI pop out to stretch the lead to 3-0 Outlaws.

LOFT battles back with 2 in the top of the 3rd. Outlaws match with 2 of their own. Maurice Scott lead off single. Hector Medina does it again with a double. William Giles gets his second hit of the game with a 2RBI single to bring in Scott, and Medina. 5-2 after 3.

LOFT gets 1 in the top of 4. In the bottom of the 4th, super rookie John Brader rips a single. Chas West matches that with a single of his own, and his second hit of the game. Darnell Maxwell gets an RBI fielders choice to bring in Brader. Theo Battles RBI sac fly scores West. 7-3 after 4.

In the bottom of the 5th, the Outlaws open the lead up some more. Josh Vaeth singles. David Woods gets an RBI single to score Vaeth. Mike Rottenberg pinch hitting for Tony Wiggs who had to leave the game after making an awesome diving catch in right field. Rotts comes through with a single. John Brader RBI single brings in Woods. Chas West totally on fire, gets his third hit with an RBI double to score Rotts. 10-3 after 5.

LOFT isn't going out easy as they put 4 in the 6th. Darnell Maxwell leads off the bottom of the 6th, with a single. Theo Battle also singles. Josh Vaeth brings in Maxwell with a deep sac fly, and gives the Outlaws an insurance run. LOFT puts up one more in the top of the 7th, but its not enough as Great Uncle Nemo closes the door, and gives the Outlaws their first sweep of the season, and the momentum they need heading into the playoffs. 11-8.

Game 1: Kings 12 (WP-Mike Herr 7-3)  Sharks  (LP- Andy Steinhart 0-1) 

The Kings entered the day needing a doubleheader sweep to ensure a 3rd place finish. They started the day off in that direction with a 12-4 win in game 1 against the Sharks. The improved Sharks line-up featured 5 players who did not appear in the previous match-up on 6/28.

Consecutive 1 out singles by Grant Summers, Austin Feldman, Skyler Dickinson (RBI), and Andy Steinhart (RBI) gave Sharks 3-0 lead in t-1st. Kings loaded bases with 2 outs in b-1st, but settled for just 1 run on bases loaded RBI walk to Troy Hendricks. In b-2nd, with 1 out, Sam Aydukovic and Brett Eisenberg singled. Mike Herr hit an RBI 2B past first base. Kenny Salzman followed with rBI 1B and Shilo Merwitz got an RBI on a groundout. Kings led after 2 innings 4-2. Sharks Austin Feldman's 2 out RBI 1B in t-3rd narrowed Kings lead 4-3. In b-3rd, Alan Varhaftik reached on a 3B to LF that was lost in the sun on NWRP #2. Troy Hendricks followed with a legitimate RBI 3B. Glenn Savage walked and Mark Lester hit a SF to LCF scoring Hendricks. Sam Aydukovic doubled down 3B line and Brett Eisenberg reached on fielder's choice to load bases with 1 out. Mike Herr hit an RBI 1B into RCF and Kenny Salzman followed with an RBI groundout. Kings scored 4 runs in the inning and built their lead 8-3.

Kings added 2 more runs in b-5th on RBI singles by Aydukovic and Eisenberg. Sharks put 1 more run across on 2 out RBI 1B by Drew McCormick in t-6th. Kings scored twice more in b-6th on RBI 3B by Katzen and SF by Varhaftik. Sharks were unable to score in 7th giving Kings game 1 victory 12-4.

Game 2:   Kings 10 (WP-Shilo Merwitz 2-2)  Sharks  9 (LP- Andy Steinhart 0-2) 

Kings moved into 3rd place after game 1 win over Sharks combined with game 1 loss by NWC against Natty O's on NWRP #3. The Kings needed to win the 2nd game of their doubleheader to finish the season with the #3 seed. The Kings played sloppy defense, commiting 5 errors, but held on to defeat the Sharks 10-9. Shilo Merwitz pitched well for the Kings, allowing just 6 hits, 3 walks, and 1 earned run.

Kings took early lead in t-1st as Kenny Salzman started game with 3B to RF and scored on SF by Merwitz. In t-2nd, Jan Katzen and Alan Varhaftik singled to start inning. With 2 outs, Mark Lester singled home Katzen to put Kings ahead 2-0.

In b-3rd, with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs, Merwitz got Austin Feldman to hit a ground ball to second base. The throw to first base was dropped allowing Gary Bosley and Shaun Semesky to score tying game 2-2. The flood gates opened as Skyler Dickinson followed with an RBI 2B, Andy Steinhart walked, and Tim Pahry singled to load bases. Nate Shuey reached on infield error with Dickinson scoring and Jeff Kapper followed with 2 RBI 1B to RCF put Sharks in lead after 3 innings 6-2.

In t-4th, Merwitz drew leadoff walk and scored on Justin Cohen's towering RBI 3B. With Cohen on third base and none out, Sharks starter Andy Steinhart was able to get out of inning wihtout allowing another run on infield groundout, popout and groundout. Sharks got that run back in b-4th on walk to Steve Kessler and 1 out SF to RCF by Austin Feldman. Sharks lead after 4 innings was 7-3. While the Kings commited 5 errors in the game, the Sharks commited just 1, but it was enough to get Kings back into ballgame. With 1 out in t-5th, Mark Lester reached on infield error. After a popout for out #2, Brett Eisenberg drew a 2 out walk, Kenny Salzman hit RBI 1B, Steve Levy hit RBI 1B, and Merwitz walked to load bases. Kings were down 7-5 with the bases loaded, 2 outs, and Justin Cohen at the plate. Cohen came thru with a bases clearing 3 RBI 2B putting Kings in front 8-7. Merwitz was able to retire Shark in order in b-5th.

In t-6th, leadoff walks to Katzen and Varhaftik proved damaging as Troy Hendricks followed with a 1B to load bases. Consecutive SF's by Glenn Savage and Mark Lester gave Kings 10-7 lead. Merwitz again retired Shark in order in b-6th. The Kings also went 3 up 3 down in t-7th. In b-7th, Shaun Semesky reached on infield error to start inning. Grant Summers followed with RBI 3B to CF. Austin Feldman hit SF to RCF pulling Sharks within 1 run, 10-9. Merwitz was then able to retire the #4 and #5 hitters of Sharks to end game with Kings coming out on top by the 1 run margin.
