Northwest Regional Park Field 1:    Umpire- Greg Hopper
Game 1: LOFT 18  (WP-Kenny Kreyling 5-4 )  Outlaws 11  (LP-Larry Newman 1-9)

L.O.F.T. came out in game 1 looking to get the bats rolling against the Outlaws after slumping for the past month. Meatball pitcher and .250 hitter, Kenny Kreyling, took the mound for L.O.F.T. in game 1. Kreyling was able to shut the Outlaws down in the first 2 innings and give his offense a chance to get out to an early lead. L.O.F.T. was able to bust out of the slump early against Nemo by plating 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and L.O.F.T. was able to plate another run in the bottom of the 2nd to go up 6-0 after 2. The Outlaws fought right back in the top of the 3rd by scoring 5 runs and cutting the lead to 6-5. L.O.F.T. came right back as they peppered singles combined with a few walks to extend their lead back out to 10-5. After a scoreless top of the 4th by the Outlaws, L.O.F.T. got the bats rolling again by scoring 5 more runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to go up 15-5. L.O.F.T. was not able to get to the run rule as the Outlaws kept firing back to at least keep the game competitive by scoring 3 in the top of the 5th and 3 in the top of the 7th. Kreyling and his defense were able to hold the Outlaws in check as L.O.F.T. cruised to victory in game 1 by the score of 18-11.

Game 2:   LOFT 14  (WP-Jonathan Stacey  4-5)  Outlaws 7  (LP-Darnell Maxwell 0-1 )

L.O.F.T. came out in game 2 looking for the sweep and to get back to .500 on the season. Jonathan Stacey looked to bounce back from a tough start the prior week and help his team earn the sweep. L.O.F.T. came out in the top of the 1st inning and was able to take an early 1-0 lead. The Outlaws came right back and tied the game in the bottom of the inning. L.O.F.T. went scoreless in the 2nd inning and the Outlaws jumped out to a 3-1 lead after 2 innings. The 3rd inning is when L.O.F.T. finally showed some patience at the plate and forced the Outlaws pitcher to throw strikes. L.O.F.T. was able to work 3 walks in the inning and force the Outlaws pitcher to throw them strikes and it worked as L.O.F.T. scored 7 runs in the inning. Luke Higgins delivered the biggest blow of the inning as he smoked a ball over the right fielders head for an inside the park 3 run home run. This big inning provided all the runs L.O.F.T. would need to win the game. Stacey kept the hitters off balance all game, and he even got a strikeout on the mound, as he only gave up 7 runs total and L.O.F.T. added 6 more runs over the final 4 innings to earn the sweep with a 14-7 victory.

Northwest Regional Park Field 3:    Umpire- Scott Snyder
Game 1: Natty O's 11 (WP-RJ Seabeck 9-7)  Nationwide Bombers 4 (LP- Tzvi Friedman 11-2)

All week, the Natty O's struggled to find enough guys to field a full squad. With the help of mother nature for a change, and 2 subs (Matt Schmauder and Kyle Melan) the O's were able to not only field enough players to play, but had 12 players when the first pitch was thrown. However, that wouldn't last very long.

The "Bradalyst" Brad Wandell got the day started with a single and would eventually score to give the O's an early 1-0 lead. The Bombers would come back and take a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the 3rd when the O's bats started to get to Howie "Tsvi" Friedman and score at least 2 runs over the next 3 innings. Brad Wandell would again get the offense going with an inside the park home run while Matt Bratter got a hold of one and took it deep and out. Patrick Wilcox would knock in Matt Bratter to add to tie the game up. The next inning RJ Seaback got things started with a single and was quickly driven in when Kris Stahle blasted a triple. The O's would lose 3 players over the next couple of innings as their leadoff, 3rd and 4th batters had to leave early. This is when RJ took the game over. Keeping the bombers off balance, moving the ball in and out, changing speeds and working his way out of trouble, RJ was simply dominant against the best hitting lineup in PMSL this season. The O's would score 3 insurance runs in the 6th when Kris Stahle tripled again, this time knocking in Greg Barr. Stahle would eventually come around when Matt Holley collected his third hit of the game. Again, RJ came out and shut down the bombers in the 7th, insuring at least a split.

RJ Seabeck showed why he is one of the best pitchers in the league as he outpitched Tzvi Freidman and helped the O’s sweep the Bombers 11-4 and 6-5. RJ also showed his heart by staying in the game in the nightcap after taking a line drive off his head off the bat Marc Loeb. RJ took a while to recover but in an amazing show of toughness, came back out to the mound and thwarted a late Bomber comeback.

The Bombers played without Gershon, Taz, Yoyo, Sam and Uri but it wouldn’t have made a difference the way RJ pitched and the lack of clutch hitting by the 1st place Bombers. At the plate, all around good guy- Holly, who also happens to be a lawyer had several key hits throughout the doubleheader. The Bombers made a run at Holly late in the offseason but couldn’t fit him under the league salary cap.

Natty O's Offensive leaders:
Kris Stahle: 3-3, 2 3B, 2 runs, 2 RBI
Brad Wandell: 2-4, 2 runs, HR, RBI
Matt Holley: 3-4, Run, RBI
Matt Bratter: 1-3 HR, 2 Runs

Game 2:   Natty O's 6 (WP-RJ Seabeck 10-7)  Nationwide Bombers 5 (LP- Tzvi Friedman 11-3)

The Bombers were so desperate to win that manager David Finkelstein pinch ran in the 7th for an injured Gabe Silber. It was the first time Finkelstein ever pinch ran in his entire life. He was stranded at 3rd (bases loaded) and would have been the tying run but the Bombers fell 6-5. Note: even if the Bombers would have won game 2 it would have still been embarrassing to win as the O’s played the last few innings without a 3rd baseman and a 4th OF. Judah Fuld made his league debut and went 2-4 with a walk.

The O's would start the game with 9 players, but just as in game 1 wouldn't finish with the same amount. This time, Kyle Melan got the game started with a triple of his own (his first of 2 on the game) and would immediately be knocked in by a Matt Holley sacrifice fly. Jason Smulson got the second inning started with a base knock, and would eventually score gracefully on yet another 2 RBI's from Kris Stahle, this time coming in the form of a sac fly also knocking in Greg Barr. The top of the 4th inning was pivotal and the O's knew they would be down to 8 players for the final 4 innings. The offensive hero of the day, Kris Stahle, this time led things off with a single before he had to leave, Kyle Melan would walk and Holley and Nick Meyer would each single driving in 2 very important runs for the O's. Just as important as the offense however, was the continuing arsenal RJ Seabeck was throwing at the Bombers on a regular basis. The last few innings was a battle unto itself. Down to 8 players, the O's decided to stick with 3 outfields and go with no third baseman. RJ kept the bombers guessing, educing fly ball outs and even racking up the K's with 5 on the day. The Bombers seemed to be mounting a small comeback when their momentum was thwarted by the cannon of an arm attached to Matt Holley as Howie was daring him to throw him out on a lazy fly ball/fake out tag up, he did, RJ snuck in from the mound and applied the tag to end the inning and the threat. RJ would almost be knocked out of the game, possibly forcing the Natty O's to have to forfeit when a line drive up the middle knocked his mask off as the ball ricocheted to the shortstop who would up getting the out. RJ shook it off, got himself composed and finished the final 2 innings, showing his true grit. The bottom of the 7th inning came, and the Bombers got some things going. They would eventually load the bases with the tying run on third base, but as he did all day, RJ worked out of a jam and got the final batter to ground out to SS to end the game.
