Attention Alumni of the Pikesville Men's Softball League
Welcome to the website of the Pikesville Men's Softball League. It has been about 35 years since the league was started. I have written a web page about the early history of the league. It is amazing how often I run into someone that tells me that they used to play in our league. We are now in our 2nd generation of players and have a good number of active players whose fathers also played in the league (I'll compile that list real soon).
Although we moved from the Pikesville fields out to Northwest Regional Park in Owings Mills in 2004, we are the same league and are glad to keep the name of our league as the Pikesville Men's Softball League. As Commissioner of the league since 1994 and a league member since 1988, I have kept track of the league standings and league champions. As I will not be able to continue acting as the League Commissioner indefinitely, I felt it was important to document the league history so that I can, at some point, pass it on to my successor. To that end, I wanted to also put together the history of the league before I became a member. Fortunately, I was able to play during the time when many of our founding members were still in the league.
I have received huge assistance from other league historians including Paul Bell, Marc Appel, Robert Dubansky, Gerry Edelman, Robbie Ressin, Skip Millison, and Stan 'the fan' Charles. The feedback has been tremendous and I thought it would be interesting to check back with our alumni to have them share with our group, some memories of your playing days in the Pikesville Men's Softball League.
